PRAGUE’S 600-YEAR-OLD ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK

The Prague astronomical clock or Prague Orloj is a medieval astronomical clock attached to the Old Town Hall in Prague, the capital of the Czechia.

The mediaeval tower clock is located at the southern side of the Old Town Hall Tower. When the clock strikes the hour (from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.), the procession of the Twelve Apostles sets in motion. See Video

Prague’s Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock

The oldest functioning Astronomical Clock in the world dating back all the way to the year 1410. Prague Astronomical Clock was installed in the last decade of the Bohemian Golden Age under the reign of Charles IV. It is famous for the Astronomical Clock and a great view over the UNESCO historical center and the Old Town Square. The Astronomical clock show runs every hour sharp from 9 AM till 11 PM.
